What I love most about my work as a clinician is the connections that I create with other humans. I feel honored that people trust me to hold space for their experiences and inner thoughts and emotions. I love helping people think about themselves and the world through a different lens. Overall, I love the people.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives but I wasn’t sure what avenue to take: teacher, doctor, chef… As time went on I came to realize that I really enjoy talking to people, collecting their stories, and offering my support in any way that I could. After my own struggles with mental health, it became apparent to me that becoming a therapist and being witness to people’s suffering and resilience is exactly what I was put on this earth for.
An important thing that I would want a prospective client to know is that I do therapy in a collaborative way in which the client is the expert of their own life and I am merely there to engage them in conversation and provide some skills that could be helpful. I encourage you to come into therapy with curiosity and an open heart and mind.
In my free time I like to binge watch new tv shows, spend time with my friends and family, explore new places in the city, and be creative through drawing and painting.
